Le réseau SFR est issu de multiples rachats de réseaux construits dès 1996 et lors de l'ouverture à la concurrence, par exemple:

Ce réseau a été déployé en emprise fluviales (VNF) et terrestre. Réseau dont des tubes sont acquis au fil du temps par Global-Crossing (racheté par Level3 - CenturyLink - Lumen), Interoute/GTT/Exa Infra, Zayo (acquisition de Viatel), EuNetworks (ex Global Voice Group Limited). Réseau utilisé notemment par Colt, Sparkle, Free (IRU SFR) etc.

  • TD (Télécom Développement) une co-entreprise entre la SNCF et Cegetel a également développé un réesau national de liaisons optiques longue distance, situé cette fois-ci en emprise ferroviaire, le long des voies de chemin de fer.
  • Covage, un opérateur d'infrastructure, gestionnaire de nombreux réseaux de DSP.
  • Les sociétés Completel, Siris, Belgacom France et Kaptech ont apporté des réseaux métropolitains pour desservir particuliers, entreprises et collectivités locales.

Sites

Sites de régénération optique (ILA) du réseau LDCOM (société ayant racheté Kaptech, Belgacom France, FirstMark Communication, 9telecom, Ventelo, Siris et enfin, Cegetel à SFR avant d'être racheté par SFR). Ce réseau a été déployé en emprise fluviales (VNF) et terrestre. Réseau dont des tubes sont acquis au fil du temps par Global-Crossing (racheté par Level3 - CenturyLink - Lumen), Interoute/GTT/Exa Infra, Zayo (acquisition de Viatel), EuNetworks (ex Global Voice Group Limited). Réseau utilisé notemment par Colt, Sparkle, Free (IRU SFR) etc.
